拍品描述： China Provisional Post Paid Handstamps Tientsin 1897 (1 Jan.) printed Peking and Tientsin Times newspaper wrapper to Washington, U.S.A. bearing a good strike of the Tientsin straight-line "postage paid" handstamp in blue with a fair strike of the Customs Tientsin dater type C2 in blue; with Customs Shanghai c.d.s. (15.1) and Japan Koban 1s. tied by "shanghai/i.j.p.o." c.d.s. An early date of use of the Tientsin handstamp, the earliest reported date being 16th December 1896 and the latest in this short-lived period is 22nd February1897. A scarce and desirable wrapper.
