INDIA - PRINCELY STATES. Government of Hyderabad. 100 Rupees, FE1339 (ND 1928). P-S266e. Jhun&Rez 7.10.3. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.An original and appealing example of this important type from Hyderabad. The princely states of India were semi-autonomous regions ruled by local monarchs under British suzerainty. Hyderabad was one of them and issued a series of banknotes printed by Waterlow & Sons, including the present example. None are common in uncirculated grades, and demand typically far exceeds demand. This example, quite unusually, is seen with fully original color and would be perfect for an advanced type set of this well-designed and appealing series. It is consecutive to the only other piece of this variety we have sold, which was graded 64 EPQ, and this note certainly seems as original as that piece, despite a minor stain mentioned by the grading service. PMG Comments "Spindle Holes at Issue, Minor Stain."
