Surpassed by just two finer examples of the type, and highly unusual to find at this grade level. For many years, collectors were unable to locate this type in uncirculated grades, as the notes available were typically found in heavily circulated grades. Only in recent years have a handful of notes appeared on the market that can properly be classified as AU or Uncirculated. Not surprisingly, with demand for quality Belgian Congo notes at an all-time high, many quickly found their way into collections, and offerings are once again few and far between. This example just barely misses the Gem Uncirculated level, but we still expect to see spirited bidding to bring this beautiful note home today.
