A <strong>VERY RARE</strong> pattern offering, this dazzling minor features a different dragon that is generally encountered on most of the late Ching issues, being most similar to the "Dragon in the Clouds" Dollars from the following year. The characters are sleekly engraved, with the denomination in English being noted rather intriguingly as "1/2 DOL"--standing out from the manner in which it is usually rendered. Olive-gray in hue, with great brilliance remaining throughout.
