FRANCE. Empire (Les Cent-Jours). Uniface Silver Obverse Trial for 2 Francs, ND (1815). Paris Mint. Napoleon I. PROOF Details, Cleaned.Maz-Unlisted; Gad-Unlisted; T&T-Unlisted. Plain edge. Weight: 10.30 gms. By Pierre-Joseph Tiolier. Differing in style slightly from the Tiolier 2 Francs of the "Hundred Days," this obverse trial is, by all accounts, INCREDIBLY RARE and may well be UNIQUE. Margolis notes that the Ferrari/Brand typescript refers to this piece as lead, but it is definitely silver and includes the referenced Ferrari/Brand catalog slip. As such, a phenomenal opportunity for the advanced collector in the series. To view all items from the Richard Margolis Collection, click here. From the Richard Margolis Collection.
Ex: Palace Collections of Egypt [King Farouk] (Sothebys - 3/1954) Lot # 2181 (part of).
Ex: Virgil M.
