拍品描述： 民国十九年威海卫里公所贰角，编号17539，直式，华丽的花卉和花瓶设计，背面为英文，并有两枚蓝色的铁锚印戳，VG品相，有裂。皇家海军食堂位于刘公岛，而刘公岛处于威海港湾的中央，军事上战略地位重要，被选为北洋海军及其舰队的驻泊之所。日本军在甲午战争后占领刘公岛3年一直到英国向清廷强租威海卫，长达42年间驻威海卫英军有建设军事行政中心、兵营及休閒场地和网球场等。建筑物保留至今，目前是中国国家重点保护文物，而这类代用券是为了防止当地员工处理现金而发行的。稀有且具有重要历史意义。China, British Weihaiwei Royal Navy Canteen, 20 cents, 1920, serial number 17539, vertical format, green, ornate flower and vase design, reverse in English with two blue anchor stamps,tear, very good. The Royal Navy Canteen was located in the RN headquarter compound on the Island of Liukung. The site was formerly a picturesque sea front Chinese official yamen, and included recreation grounds and tennis courts etc. Building remains today and is currently a China National Priority Protected Site. These tokens were created mainly to prevent local staff from handling cash. Rare and historically important
