LATER ZHAO: Anonymous, 319-352, AE cash (2.6g), H-12.3, feng huo ("currency of abundance") in seal script, small dot below hole, with inner rims, graded 75 by GBCA Grading Company, VF, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection. The Later Zhao Dynasty was ruled by the Jie tribe, one of the Five Barbarians who overthrew the Western Jin Dynasty and established their own kingdom. This type was cast by Emperor Shi Le in 319 at Xiangguo (now Xingtai in Hebei) with a weight of 4 zhu. They are known as the Cash of Riches - keeping one piece of this type was said to bring great wealth. However, the historical record states that the people were displeased, and that in the end the coins did not circulate.
