A deceptively rare issue only surpassed in rarity by the 10 Yen, although we wont be surprised if the rarity of these two highest denominations is essentially equal. This example is one of just two examples graded in the PMG population report and is a problem-free circulated example with excellent eye-appeal for the technical grade. The Japanese occupation of Siberia occurred during the Russian Civil War, when Japanese forces, along with other Allied troops, intervened to secure strategic positions and support anti-Bolshevik factions. This intervention was short-lived, as Japanese forces withdrew by 1922, leaving Siberia firmly under Soviet control. The notes issued to the troops during this period are seldom seen and heavily collected. We offered the only other graded example last year also as part of the <em>Al Kugel Collection.</em>NoFrom the Al Kugel Collection.
