RUSSIA. Chervonetz (10 Rubles), 1923-(NA). St. Petersburg (Petrograd) Mint. NGC PROOF-63.Fr-181, KM-Y-85. Wonderfully brilliant mirrored reflectivity in the fields accent a rich golden tone. Some microscopic hairlines account for the NGC-assigned grade, but in the hand, do not detract from the overall great visual allure. An incredibly RARE issue in the Proof format, as evidenced by the fact NGC has five examples listed in their Census, and there are only two appearances listed in coinarchives.com; a similarly graded NGC Proof-63 sold back in May 2009, and the other, more recently in the January 2015 "New York Sale XXXVI" where an NGC Proof-62 hammered for $37,500. An opportunity for the most advanced of Russian cabinets, and a coin that will see very strong bidding competition when it crosses the block.Ex: Rovensky.
