E. CURRIER on an 1806 C-1 Half cent. Brunk-C-1150 (type of). Host coin EF-40.Counter stamped twice crosswise on Libertys head and face as illustrated. Attributed to silversmith and clockmaker Edmund M. Currier of Hopkinton, New Hampshire and Salem, Massachusetts. Evidently only one example of this counterstamp was known to Brunk-that on a 1802 cent. The latter includes the additional counterstamp E.C., a feature not shared by the presently offered specimen.
