Obverse: Louis standing left, placing hand upon constitution set upon altar; behind to left, standing figures of Minerva (representing Liberty) and Aequitas (representing Equality); Reverse: Hercules right, slaying the hydra to lower right with club; border of arrowheads around. Though this features the obverse type of Maz-246-49, it utilizes a reverse type by Gatteaux that is completely unknown for coinage, though Margolis points out its usage for a timbre à sec (dry seal) for the 1792 assignats of 50 Livres. As such, strongEXTREMELY RARE/strong and interesting.
