Struck by mintmaster Thomas Beheim during the first siege of Vienna by the forces of Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, which lasted from September 27 to October 15, 1529. Quite well struck and an impressive survivor, both in terms of technical wear and the utter lack of repair, tooling, or other alterations very frequently seen upon this type. Sure to command heavy attention among collectors of rare and high quality siege types.
