Applied to the obverse of a 1824-Mo JM Mexico Republic Hookneck 8 Reales, curled snake variety (KM-A376.2). The countermark is well applied, though slightly uneven, to a nicely preserved moderately worn host. The surfaces display rich slate patina with a slight iridescent sheen adding to its pleasing appearance and originality.
