1723 Woods Hibernia Farthing. Martin 3.23-C.1, W-12540. Rarity-8. Silver. VG-10 (PCGS). An exceedingly rare die pairing, known only in silver, and to the extent of just two specimens. The other coin is the Ford VII:69 specimen, cataloged therein as Uncirculated. The offered coin from Syd Martins extensive holdings is not nearly as fine, although the wear is honest and even, the surfaces smooth and problem free. Enough of the diagnostics remain to confirm the die pairing, but patience is required to discern the second stop after the date. No PCGS# 920853.
