Crafted with flora vine scrolls pattern with the Crown ontop, center window enamelled in balck text 5 lines "FROM HIS MAKESTY / CHULALONGKORN I, KING OF SIAM / TO / HIS HIGHESS PRINCE ALFRED MONTENUOVO / BANGKOK FEBRUARY 1877", total weight = 445gms, W.=7.5cm., L.=14.4cm., H.=3cm., beautiful craftmanship, almost untouched and extremely well preserved. This is the first time this golden box is back to Thailand after 145 years. UNIQUE. (1) Note: Alfred, 2nd prince of Montenuovo was one of the highest court officials of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. Among his ancestors were members of the House of Habsburg and the Medici family. His paternal grandmother Marie Louise was the Empress consort of Napoleon I of France.
