SC-152. South Carolina. April 10, 1778. 30 Shillings. PMG Choice Fine 15.No. 10085. Vignette of Hope and Anchor at lower right. This is the highest denomination of the series but which has the lowest printing. Auction results attest to the fact that this is easily the scarcest denomination from an otherwise common series. The 7s6d note is typically thought to be the second scarcest denomination and we have sold a number of those. There were two different sheets printed. The first sheet is the one that survived en masse, which is why we see so many high-grade notes from this issue. The second sheet had the following denominations: 7s6d, 15s, 20s, and 30s. We have only ever sold a single intact sheet of this type and that was part of the Ford collection. Listed in Newman at $2,000 in VF grade with nothing better. PMG has commented "Edge damage, internal tear.".
