1799 (ca. 1800) Westwood Medal. First Reverse. Musante GW-82, Baker-81. Bronze. AU-58 (PCGS).41 mm. Glossy chestnut and mahogany brown with minor surface marks that one would expect from a gently handled example, but none that stand out as noteworthy. One small darker patina spot in the lower right obverse field. A handsome example that is nicely struck with just a trace of light wear-essentially a perfect grade in the sense that we know this medal was taken care of, yet it carried a pride of ownership that made it an object worthy of showing off.
