Variety with large characters on reverse. Obverse: Dragon in clouds, date below; Reverse: "Minh Mang Thong Bao". This popular crown issue features an artistic dragon in dynamic motion on the obverse and large, bold characters on the reverse. The present example exhibits only light handling on its dark gunmetal gray surfaces. A couple areas of tooling are noted on the obverse, but these blend in unobtrusively on the deeply toned fields.
