Exemplaire reçu par le maire de Barcelone, Francesc Rius y Taulet, et accompagné de son coffret en velours cramoisi, orné de cabochons avec une plaque dorée et ajourée aux initiales FTR, sous une couronne.NGC MS 60 PL (6634183-002). D’un module impressionnant, en frappe d’aspect Flan bruni (PROOFLIKE) aux champs miroir. Minimes griffures et hairlines. Sous coque jumbo (à peine cassée). Superbe à Fleur de coin.C’est avec l’Exposition Universelle de 1888 que Barcelone accède au rang de capitale moderne et européenne. Le maire de la ville, Francesc Rius y Taulet en est l’un des principaux artisans, à la suite de la proposition d’Exposition d’Eugenio R. Serrano de Casanova. Ce dernier était l’émissaire du royaume lors des grandes expositions internationales de Philadelphie en 1876 par exemple. L’inauguration se fait le 20 mai 1888 en présence de la régente Marie Christine et du jeune roi Alphonse XIII

This example has been received by the mayor of Barcelona, Francesc de Paula Rius I Taulet, in its crimson velvet box, adorned with cabochons and a golden plate engraved with the initials FTR, under a crown.NGC MS 60 PL. Impressive module, prooflike strike with mirror fields. Minimal scratches and hairlines. Under jumbo holder (barely broken). Uncirculated.Barcelona rises to the rank of modern and European capital thanks to the Universal Exhibition of 1888. The mayor of Barcelona, Francesc de Paula Rius I Taulet, is one of its most important promoter. The proposal for the exhibition comes from Eugenio R. Serrano de Casanova, emissary of the Kingdom during international exhibitions, such as the one in Philadelphia in 1876. The inauguration takes place on may 20th of 1888, in the presence of the regent Maria Christina and the young King Alfonso XIII.
