This is a merchant issue that was payable at the Tuskegee Insurance Company. Issued by Sills and Dillard, both of Auburn, Alabama. The Tuskegee Insurance Company was incorporated by the state of Alabama in early 1856, and they secured a $50,000 capitalization loan from the Farmers and Exchange Bank of Charleston, South Carolina.
