Fr. 1374. 50 Cent. Fourth Issue. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ. Your cataloger has been specializing in Fractional Currency for an exceptionally long time and that experience speaks volumes; this Lincoln type is, without question, the single most popular of all the major fractional types. It is a superbly margined piece that has been blessed with near-perfect centering, deep printing, and bright color. Tonights offering is the single-finest example we have been privileged to sell. Our previous price record for a Lincoln Fractional sold by us was a raw Uncirculated piece with wide margins which fell just short of $5,500 over a decade ago. In the past couple of years when a note graded Gem Unc 66PQ does appear at auction, the price floor is usually set right around $5,000. There is only one other PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ graded, and it sold at public auction for $13,200 almost a year ago. If this is not a clarion call for collecting Lincoln notes then nothing will be. The opportunity to purchase another in this state of preservation is likely several years away. PMG Pop 2/None Finer.
