GREAT BRITAIN. Unite, ND (1631-32). London Mint; mm: Flower. Charles I. PCGS MS-62. S-2719; Fr-253; KM-171; N-2294. Briots first milled issue. Obverse: Crowned, draped, and armored bust left, wearing ruffled collar; XX (mark of value) to right; Reverse: Crowned and garnished coat-of-arms; crowned C-R across field. Presenting all of the refinement and elegance that one would expect from Briots elevated coinage, this enticing gold emission displays great lustrous brilliance remaining and a vibrant golden nature accentuating the devices. The strike, outside of a slight spot of weakness on the shield, is even and quite bold, making this an absolute stunner and a true connoisseurs example. Not surprisingly, the finest of just three seen at PCGS, and the only such Mint State representative. From the Lucius S. Ruder Collection.
