Langes comments in his 1996 reference <em>The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents</em> are still appropriate today:<em>The huge mintage of [the Proof 1959] has guaranteed that gems will always be common. The number of certified cameos and deep cameos is up from previous years in direct proportion to the increased mintage. They still, however, represent a tiny percentage of the total coinage and must be considered quite rare in a relative sense.</em>At the threshold of numismatic perfection, the offered coin is exceedingly rare from a condition standpoint and is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a top-flight set on the PCGS Registry.
