Zeno-42956 for further information, Sasanian-style bust right, probably derived from Kavad I (484-497, 499-531) with one Sogdian word before // half portrait left, raising a cup (of wine?) with his right hand, his left hand akimbo, Sogdian words in the field, assigned to a theoretical "King of Hyons", choice VF-EF, RRR. An inferior example sold in our Auction 45, Lot 142. This piece is much more attractive.
