Undated (ca. 1652-1674) St. Patrick Farthing. Martin 4b.2-Aa.1, W-11500. Rarity-6+. Copper. Halo Around Saints Head. VG-10 (PCGS).89.7 grains. An interesting variety that combines a Sea Beasts obverse with the Halo or Nimbus reverse. All of the other Halo reverse varieties are seen with a group 1 obverse, with nothing below the king. A challenging major Red Book variety, the Halo St. Patrick farthings are challenging in terms of condition and absolute scarcity. This is one of just five coins to have received a straight grade at PCGS. This piece has decent light brown surfaces with just some natural planchet pitting and a scrape near the church. The halo around the saints head can be easily seen.PCGS# 915233.From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex John Kraljevich, September 2013.
