An interesting off-metal restrike in gold and featuring a pairing with a Franc reverse (<em>hence the entire design not fitting upon the planchet</em>), this elegant souvenir would have been distributed to high-ranking officials upon its issuing in 1899 following the transferal of the original dies (<em>which had since rusted to a degree</em>) from Brussels to Phnom Penh. High engaging and enchanting, this VERY RARE offering is quite likely the best of the type that one can possibly hope to encounter.
