安南绍治通宝万世永赖。重18.88 克。正面为绍治通宝，万世永赖。日左月右，下有五星球。底部见大海居中，三山耸立。反面六行铭文：玦项千年化盪鏐万世传酬勳彰有德所宝者惟贤。原味十足，精美诱人的存世之作，图文规整，币面平滑，窑藏包浆浓郁。底板呈现令人愉悦的石墨灰色包浆，保护区内间见石板色，并辅之夕阳暮色的五彩，光线转动下若隐若现。仔细检阅会发现，正面和反面均有一些轻微的浅划痕，颇为常见，现已与币的整体融和。即便有瑕，整体铸制精良，币坯亮丽，别树一格。<em>饶有趣味的是，日月象徵意义是长寿和繁荣。尤见于反面的铭文：金玉硃砂，历经千年，成极精金，可传万代，此明功德，讚颂贤者，智慧为贵。根据中国炼金术士的四根说，物质由四种元素构成，石头的元素为气，元素中好的部分变成金玉，不好的部分变成砒霜。传说中，丹砂受青阳之气始生矿石，二百年成丹砂，而青女孕又二百年而成铅，又二百年成银，又二百年覆得太和之气而为金。</em>ANNAM. Obverse: Inscription in two parts of four characters each to the right and left Theiu Tri Thong Bao Van The Vinh Lai, moon right and sun left above with the five planets below, rendition of the forming sea below center with the three wonder mountains; Reverse: inscription in six lines from right to left Kuyet Hong Thien Nien Hoa Dang Lu Van The Truyen, Thue Huan Chuong Thun Duc So Bao Gia Duy Hien. This wholly original looking and highly attractive survivor boasts sharp well-formed and crisp devices with smooth surfaces and lovely rich cabinet tone. The fields display a pleasing graphite gray patina with slate coloration in the protected areas complemented by sun set and twilight hued iridescence that pops out when tilted in the light. Close inspection reveals evidence of a few light shallow scratches on the obverse and reverse, as is commonly encountered on this type, that are now toned over matching the rest of the coin. Despite its shortcomings, this beautiful example offers much originality and good eye appeal on a well produced flan with good metal quality.<em>It is interesting to note that the inscription and symbolism of the Sun and Moon types are that of longevity and prosperity. Specifically the reverse inscription The precious stone Khuyet and the cinnabar after 1,000 years is turned into a very fine gold which can be handed on to 10,000 generations. This we acknowledge the merit and we praise the virtuous men, for only wisdom is precious. According to Chinese alchemists, stone is the root of the element Khi, the good parts of the element which become gold and jade while the bad parts turn to arsenic. They say that nature adds sulphuretted mercury producing a metalliferous substance which after a period of 200 years becomes native cinnabar; after 300 years the cinnabar is transmuted into lead which after an additional 200 years changes to silver, finally after another 200 years becomes gold.</em>From the Nguyen Dynasty Collection.
