(t) CHINA. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding. Provincial Three Stamp Remittance Ingots. Silver 5.25 Tael Bank Ingot, ND. Graded AU 58 by GBCA Grading Company.BMC-Class LXVI Group I # 832. Weight: 191.7 gms. Cheng Ling Chang Hao Hui Hao Wen Yin (Chenglingchang Bank, remittance bank fine silver), Guo Ji Gong Gu Hao (Guo Bank, public assay bank). This nicely preserved ingot boasts deeply applied central and outer stamps with much remaining luster in the protected area of the latter. The assay stamps, though boldly applied are both crooked with most characters obscured, are fully legible. Close inspection reveals a small gouge on the wall of the left stamp, long since toned over matching the rest of the ingot. Minor earthen deposits amongst the devices add to its pleasing appearance and originality. Despite its shortcomings, a presentable example of the type displaying rich slate patina with areas of a brighter golden coloration that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
